I (much like Andrew) was unaware that Bill Clinton had gone on Rush Limbaugh’s radio show last Tuesday.  You can listen to the audio here. 

It really is quite fascinating–Bill Clinton granted free rein to defend campaign tactics, utterly unchallenged, in order to rail against Barack Obama on Rush Limbaugh’s radio program.  It’s like 1992 sitting down for dinner with 2000.  It’s a wink and a nod from “Red America” to “Blue America,” each clinging to their strange and harmful symbiotic relationship.

I’ve touched upon this in the past, and I hope to write about it more extensively once the Democratic nomination gets wrapped up.  If the race is between Hillary and McCain, then the country will simply be served another round of “find the undecideds.”  We’ll probably miss these primary salad days, where Democrats in Wyoming and Republicans in Ohio are able to exert influence in races that matter.  In a McCain/Clinton race, we’ll get red state/blue state on steroids.  A handful of states will matter, and the race will resemble a war of attrition between two national names with few undecided voters between them.  In a word, it will be depressing.
